Aurecon celebrated its rich 10-year history in Hong Kong with Ir Lam attending the new office opening

13 December 2018 - Global engineering and infrastructure advisory company Aurecon celebrated its rich 10-year history in Hong Kong, identifying digital innovation as a vital pillar in its expansion strategy.

Over the past ten years, Aurecon has made significant contributions to Hong Kong’s skyline and infrastructure, having had a hand in many landmark projects like the High Speed Rail - West Kowloon Station, Hong Kong International Airport, the MTR South Island Line, and the development of Anderson Road Quarry.

In ten years, the engineering and construction industry has changed radically – where projects are becoming increasingly more complex and traditional business models are facing disruption from new technologies. To thrive in such a competitive environment, Aurecon has transformed itself by focusing strongly on digital, innovation, and a human-centred design approach.

Human-centred design

When the opportunity arose to design its work space in Kowloon, Aurecon placed the end-users – employees, clients, and partners, at the centre of its design intent.

“When it came to the workplace ecology, we applied our principles from our work on Buildings of the Future, creating conducive spaces for both solo and group work. The combination of warm colours and natural light promotes innovative thinking and creativity. Each meeting room is a future-ready workplace, equipped with the latest technology to facilitate collaboration. I am proud to say that our new space is aligned with Aurecon’s promise of bringing ideas to life,” said Johnny Lam, Aurecon’s Managing Director for Greater China.

“By ensuring our teams have the most favourable environment to collaborate and innovate, we can achieve the best outcomes for clients and communities,” he added.

To commemorate its 10th year of operations in Hong Kong, Aurecon hosted a cocktail reception at its new office at Unit 1608, 16/F, Tower B, Manulife Financial Centre, 223 – 231 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon Hong Kong S. A. R. The Guest-of-Honour was Ir. Lam Sai-hung, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) of the Government of HKSAR.
