Aurecon condemns recent xenophobic/Afrophobic attacks

05 May 2015 - Aurecon has a proud history on the African continent over many decades and has made a significant contribution to its development.

Given this close involvement, the company condemns the recent xenophobic/Afrophobic attacks on foreign nationals from other African countries in South Africa in the strongest terms, as well as retaliatory actions against South African nationals and companies in other countries in Africa. What’s more, Aurecon stands in solidarity with the South African Government in terms of its efforts to ensure the situation and tension subsides and that a calm and peaceful resolution is reached and prevails.

In addition, the company urges its staff, clients, and other stakeholders and their families travelling on the continent – whether to or from South Africa, and regardless of their nationality – to remain vigilant and refrain from getting involved in disputes.
