Leading energy and water professionals will be sharing insights on enhancing industry collaboration, energy production and opportunities for renewable energy and investment challenges.
Aurecon Power Generation Expertise Leader Ashley Grohn will be presenting a paper on technical considerations for a bankable power purchase agreement (PPA). Ashley said, “Power generation in Africa is now a business, with private sector ‘Build Own Operate’ becoming the norm, and hence a good Power Purchase Agreement encompassing not only the legal terms but also the technical considerations is primordial.”
“Aurecon is currently working on a number of power generation projects in Africa, including the South African Department of Energy’s Baseload IPP Programme and the Government of Botswana’s 300MW coal IPP project,” Ashley said.
Bertrand Rochecouste Collet, Technical Director, Aurecon, will be chairing two sessions on hydropower and presenting a paper on ‘fast tracking hydro infrastructure build in developing countries’.
“The energy industry needs a collaborative approach where focus and emphasis is not on a particular field but spread among all necessary services required to uplift communities and alleviate poverty on the African continent,” Bertrand said.
Aurecon is a sponsor of the conference and provides consultancy services to project developers, contractors, asset owners and lenders over the entire lifecycle of power generation projects.
