10 December 2015 – Aurecon Cares, in partnership with staff from Aurecon’s Tshwane Water Unit, recently donated hygiene and cosmetic products to almost two hundred girls from Emdibini Combined School.

This no fee school in Evander, Mpumalanga, is close to where Aurecon is currently upgrading and refurbishing the Kinross Wastewater Treatment Works.

“The initiative forms part of Aurecon’s ongoing efforts to help the development of South Africa’s youth and serves to educate learners on the importance of good hygiene, while also ensuring that they have the necessary resources to actively practise and instill good hygiene habits,” explains Teboho Mofokeng, Technical Director, Tshwane Water Unit.

The donation to the school further highlights Aurecon’s commitment to Corporate Social Investment needed to bring about positive change across a diversity of developmental and educational issues in communities where the company has a presence.

“We believe that by investing in communities we empower, educate and improve the lives of individuals who are beneficiaries of our efforts,” emphasises Mofokeng.
