New Oxford Terrace Entertainment Precinct offers unique hospitality experience

Oxford Terrace Entertainment Precinct redevelopment

 25 June 2013 - The Oxford Terrace Entertainment Precinct redevelopment will be one of the first precincts to help kick start the rebuild of the Christchurch CBD.

Still in its concept/design stage, once completed the precinct will incorporate a mix of development activity including a bar, café and restaurant along the Oxford Terrace frontage with retail and office accommodation at the rear.   

Structurally designed by Aurecon, the mixed use development will have the latest in low damage seismic technology and will be constructed in stages.

The NZD30 million stage one will be the hospitality development along Oxford Terrace. Stage two will include the retail and office development to the rear.

Stephen Hogg, Technical Director for Buildings, said: “The buildings are designed to offer a offer a unique hospitality offering to the Christchurch CBD, with consideration given to providing maximum benefit for waste and deliveries into the wider precinct, interaction with pedestrianised areas and close integration with the Avon River.”

The precinct has an estimated completion date of December 2013.
