Aurecon attracting top talent and building company culture through Facebook

2000 Facebook likes

02 February 2012 - With social media now firmly entrenched in daily business life, Aurecon is using this powerful medium to attract top recruits and graduates, grow a stronger company culture globally and provide the market with an inside glimpse of life at Aurecon.

In the early days, of building a social media presence, Aurecon focused on using Facebook as a platform to communicate with its staff in a direct, relaxed and social environment. With a steadily increasing fan base having just reached 2 000 high-calibre fans – Aurecon has made great inroads in providing top quality content that provides fans with a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at the culture of Aurecon.

“Our goal is not, and will never be, to gain 20 000 fans in one week, but rather to post quality content, build our quality brand and attract the most suited fans to our page,” says Danielle Bond, Head of Marketing and Communications at Aurecon.

Aurecon has lived its Leading Vibrant Global brand on Facebook by ensuring that fans receive a lot more than irrelevant content flooding their newsfeeds. “Our posts look at diverse aspects of our organisation,” comments Bond. “These include our award-winning projects, social and sporting events our employees participate in, corporate social initiatives, breaking company news and so on.”

Mark Thomas, Aurecon’s Head of Human Capital, explains that Aurecon is increasingly using social media to talk to the wider technical, engineering and management consultancy markets by tailoring and refining content to suite their target audience and stakeholders.

“Aurecon employs inspirational and energetic people. Coupled with this, we are also thought leaders across a diverse range of specialisations, and encourage innovative thinking and ideas. Using social media not only expands our reach, but also allows us to leverage off of this increased exposure to demonstrate that we are one of the very best and most progressive engineering companies to work for,” emphasises Thomas.

Going forward, Aurecon aims to build on its steady, ever-increasing fan base, continue to post top-notch content and, ultimately, work towards becoming a leader in social media in the technical and engineering-sectors globally.
