“We are seeing increasing interest in improving serviceability in buildings and in applying environmentally sustainable design (ESD) to extend their useful life,” said Quentin, Aurecon’s ESD Leader in New Zealand.
In each city, architects, developers, building owners and valuers will receive presentations on industry trends and smart technologies Aurecon can deploy as part of a sustainable refurbishment. Covering a plethora of budgets and project requirements, the road shows aim to deliver relevant and practical advice to key decision makers.
Aurecon’s highly acclaimed Re-Lifing and Sustainability Consultant, Jeff Robinson will travel to New Zealand to present case studies about the application of robust technologies that promote high quality environments with simple adjustments.
“Worldwide, the built environment accounts for about a third of our CO2 emissions,” said Jeff. “In terms of comfort and productivity, green office buildings outperform non-green buildings. They also offer the potential for financial savings through building energy efficient refurbishment measures.”
The presentation will cover:
Sustainable retrofit options - from building tune ups to large scale refurbishments
Understanding a building’s life cycle relative to its design, age and value
Which rating tools to use
A guide to the challenges of refurbishing existing buildings
New technologies available
“The key to a successful sustainable refurbishment is making the most of what you have to enhance the value of your asset and its lettability by applying green engineering solutions. Tenants are increasingly seeking improved amenities to promote a better working environment for their staff,” said Quentin.
