Aurecon excels at Consulting Engineers South Africa 2010 awards
25 August 2010 - Aurecon was recognised in three categories, including Mentoring Company of the Year, at the recent Consulting Engineers South Africa’s (CESA) prestigious Glenrand MIB Engineering Excellence awards.
In the category of Engineering Excellence with a value less than R10-million, Aurecon received an accolade for the Algoa Reconciliation Strategy Study. The Algoa Reconciliation Strategy Study was commissioned in order to secure sustainable future water supply for the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality and Coega Industrial Development Zone and has created a platform for making successful choices that will ensure ongoing and vital provision of water for the area’s citizens.
In an effort to promote the mentoring of young engineers, CESA recognised the contribution mentors make to the industry. Aurecon was overall winner in the Mentoring Company of the Year category. We have invested extensively in a comprehensive mentoring programme which contributes to our status as a leading, vibrant, global group.
In the special Soccer Stadiums category, the BKS-BTKM-PMSA Joint Venture won the award for the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Aurecon formed part of the structural design team consortium for the stadium.
“These accolades are a testament to the ongoing hard work of our people,” said Dr Gustav Rohde, Aurecon’s Chief Executive Africa - Middle East. He added that the level of excellence at the awards was high. “Each of the entries was a prime example of achievement in our industry. The news of Aurecon’s multiple wins is confirmation that we continue to deliver outstanding project outcomes.”
