Aurecon walked away with the top accolade at the CESA/Glenrand MIB Engineering Excellence Awards in the category ‘Projects greater than R100 million’ for the Central Terminal Building at OR Tambo International, Gauteng. The prestigious awards dinner was held at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg, on Wednesday 12 August.
Aurecon submitted the project on behalf of its joint venture partners, KAYP (now AKi Consulting) and Iliso. Aurecon’s involvement included the civil, structural and wet services, as well as mechanical (HVAC) engineering services.
Aurecon was up against stiff competition in this category which included eleven other submissions.
One of Aurecon’s heritage companies, Ninham Shand, as part of a joint venture, also won the top CESA award in 2008 for the Berg Water Project.
