The Mind Matters programme focuses on improving mental health awareness in Aurecon; supporting both employees and managers in managing mental health concerns.
At the heart of the programme was the integration of the Mental Health First Aid Officers into the business. Research into leading practice for mental health has revealed that on-the-ground support has the most significant and positive impact. In addition, the programme has and will continue to educate line managers in mental ill-health and the recognition of signs and symptoms.
The award was recognised by AHRI’s distinguished judging panel as the most outstanding industry contribution to improving awareness, attitudes and understanding of mental health issues among employees in the workplace and in the wider community.
Aurecon Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, William Cox said the Mind Matters programme is an essential pathway to supporting the health and wellbeing of employees.
"A mentally healthy Aurecon is better for everyone. It facilitates us all in taking proactive action to support and care for our own mental health,” he said.
