In 2008, Aurecon was appointed to provide full engineering services for the Danang Beach Resort, VinaCapital’s award-winning flagship resort in Danang, central Vietnam, including infrastructure, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and fire services.
The resort is the largest development on Vietnam’s central coast and comprises private luxury villas and apartments, a hotel and a world-class golf course designed by Greg Norman and built to international standards. In addition, its beach club includes a fitness centre, swimming pools, parklands and tennis courts.
The 260 ha site is located in an area that is annually impacted by typhoons and has limited infrastructure. As such, Aurecon’s design solutions included an integrated water management strategy utilising ground water for domestic supply and a sewer treatment plant, which provides treated effluent for use as irrigation water for the golf course. The irrigation water supply is stored within a series of lined artificial lakes incorporated in the golf landscape.
The Danang Beach Resort creates a sustainable residential and tourist destination with facilities and infrastructure to attract international visitors to this tourism growth area. The project was completed in 2011 and demonstrates a flexible infrastructure solution that allows for future site development in response to changing market demands.
