In support of our government’s broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) agenda to address inequalities in South Africa, Aurecon and S-Group have decided to pool their resources, track records and management skills to establish a new, majority black-owned (70%) and managed (80%), rail and ports entity.
The two companies have entered into an exclusive agreement and will now jointly pursue and deliver rail and port business opportunities in southern Africa.
The new entity, Aurecon Rail and Ports, will be equally owned and managed by the two founding companies and will provide a comprehensive range of services with a specific focus on providing engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) capabilities in southern Africa.
S-Group is a 100% black-owned and black-managed South African consultancy. Established in 2006, the company provides a broad range of integrated railway solutions spanning the entire value chain including infrastructure, rolling stock, maintenance, operating systems and training within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Employing top quality engineering professionals, technical specialists and business advisors, the company aims to provide solutions that address clients’ needs, while also providing enduring, reliable and significant improvements to railway and transportation safety.
The new partnership is managed by an experienced team of engineering professionals comprising five members, four of whom are Black.
