Aurecon in New ZealandThe islands of New Zealand lie in the south-west Pacific Ocean. It is about 1 600 km from both Australia and Polynesia. Although New Zealand seems to be in an isolated position geographically, it offers close access to international markets through free trade and economic co-operation agreements with a number of countries including Australia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Chile and Brunei.

New Zealand has a mixed economy which operates on free market principles. It has sizeable manufacturing and service sectors complementing a highly efficient agricultural sector. Exports of goods and services account for around one third of real expenditure GDP.

Aurecon has a presence in New Zealand since 1992 and now has six offices throughout New Zealand. We have worked on numerous large projects including wind farms, hydro power stations, roads of national significance, freight and logistical traffic modelling, industrial manufacturing and land development.

New Zealand is focused on creating infrastructure to support a sustainable and resilient society. From renewable energy, to alternative water solutions and the built environment, Aurecon is also focused on providing the solutions in the present that will make a positive difference to the future.

Aurecon developed and implemented world-first seismic technology in both steel and wooden framed building constructions. This technology has the potential to change how building structures are implemented, not only in New Zealand but worldwide, particularly in developing countries in seismically active areas.

Our projects have included Auckland’s Eden park redevelopment project, the award winning Te Puni Village, Castle Hill wind farm, Albany Centre Traffic Modelling, Ferndale eco subdivision that set new standards for sustainable design, and the SH18 Hobsonsville deviation.
