He has been project surveyor and project manager on major engineering and land development projects within Australia and overseas. Neil leads business development for Land Development Services in Australia and New Zealand. He has particular interest in GIS and asset management on infrastructure projects.
Proudest moment in your career?
Completion of the construction of a substantial concrete road bridge in Northern Thailand using local village labour and basic construction equipment.
Your most challenging project?
City Link project in Melbourne as we used leading edge technology for the alignment of the road headers excavating the Burnley and Domain tunnels.
Keys to a successful project delivery?
Understanding the client’s drivers and business, and working collaboratively between the project team and client to achieve the right outcome for the client and Aurecon.
The most important lesson you learnt early in your career?
Respect your fellow workers, and always be fair and transparent with your decisions. This will build respect for you within your industry. It is a small world and you never know these people may be a client etc. in the future.
Where do you see Land Development over the next five years?
As the population of Australia and the world continues to grow, there will be more demand for additional housing/sustainable communities.
