Keeping people and freight moving

Roads are vital in assisting our world’s economic development by enabling people and freight get to where they need to go, safely and efficiently. Designed well, they can have a profound effect on the surrounding environment and communities, while still promoting sustainability and enhancing safety and connectivity.

Now more than ever, our roads form one part of a more integrated transport system, connecting to other modes including public transportation and shared-use areas dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists.

At Aurecon, we don’t only know roads and highways, we understand them. Our large team of over 200 highly skilled specialists work across all types of road infrastructure – from rural access roads to complex freeways, toll roads and system interchanges.

Smarter technology, safer roads

In a world of rapidly changing technology, transport is evolving at a rapid pace and new challenges are constantly arising that require new approaches, and different ways of thinking.

At Aurecon, we recognise the potential of new and emerging technologies and the importance of considering what tomorrow’s roads will look like so we can plan and design roads of the future. Roads of the future will include traditional transportation types, mixed with driverless modes offering multiple service offerings, reliability, improved safety and a different ownership model to today.

To help tackle problems like congestion in our big cities, we design new road infrastructure projects for our clients, while also maximising the performance of their existing assets. We do this by enhancing the use of assets through widening projects, applying intelligent transport systems and planning for the development of fully managed road systems of the future.

Our difference

Universal approach – we approach roads with a universal view, understanding that every project is different with various requirements and diverse challenges. We understand that rural roads present unique challenges with environmental impact, sustainability and earthworks, while urban roads present further and more complex challenges with physical constraints, existing utilities and constructability.

Certified group of people

A bespoke team – considering factors such as geography, community needs and feedback, as well as values around sustainability, the size of our unit allows us to deploy a bespoke team of specialists with experience across major projects and different contract types. It’s our size, technical expertise and the depth of our knowledge that really sets us apart.

How we deliver

Digital data and design – we are at the forefront of using digital tools on our projects. Using new technology, we are able to streamline processes by using tools to better collaborate with our project partners, and our clients. We provide comprehensive understanding of our designs and can present data in ways that enhance project understanding, and provide a three-dimensional interactive view of the work we do.
