Aurecon strengthens aviation business with senior appointment

Brett Reiss

Brett Reiss, Aviation Leader - ANZ

22 September 2016 - Brett Reiss has joined Aurecon as Aviation Leader, Australia and New Zealand, to lead the drive to capitalise on the industry’s growth potential in the region; building on the global engineering and infrastructure advisory company’s long-established track record in airport engineering consulting and the aviation sector.

Brett joins Aurecon from The Airport Group, the full service airport advisors and project managers, where he was a Consulting Director.  Prior to that he had been Programme Director Airport Redevelopment for Port Hedland International Airport. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of the airport’s long-term lease privatisation strategy and had also taken on the role of Acting Airport General Manager.

Brett’s extensive business experience includes senior management roles at Adelaide Airport, Hobart International Airport, Christchurch International Airport, and at Northern Territory Airports.

“Air travel continues to grow despite the state of the global economy and the challenges of the sector. It is a highly competitive industry offering considerable business opportunities. Brett’s extensive experience of handling complex commercial and airport contract matters at an executive level will be an invaluable asset for our clients and their enterprises,” comments Stephen Symons, Aurecon’s Client Director for Aviation.

Explaining his decision to join Aurecon, Brett said he was excited by the company’s design-led, innovative approach of working closely with clients to solve complex problems. “The days of an airport merely being a transit hub for aircraft are behind us,” he added.

“An airport has to be seen as the nucleus of a new future for the surrounding area. Our challenge is to drive visionary thinking and engage all stakeholders and surrounding businesses in a collaborative process of realising an area’s underlying potential.”
