Aurecon to host some of the brightest minds in design today

Good Design Australia & Aurecon

02 September 2016 - Good Design Australia is presenting the Design as Strategy Forum, in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney and Aurecon on 12 September 2016.

“This forum is one of the most respected design and business gatherings in the Asia-Pacific Region. As engineers and advisors, Aurecon’s approach is to blend what is with what might be in order to create what is possible. Our support of this event is a demonstration of our belief in the power of design,” says John McGuire, Chief Innovation Officer at Aurecon.

The Forum will bring together thought leaders from around the world together to share their stories on leveraging design as a means to solve complex problems, create new value, exceed customer expectations and transform business models.

“Design as Strategy explores a new way of looking at problems. We’re reaching a point in time when complexity should inspire us; and ambiguity should energise us. Together, we can solve some of the world's most complex problems – but we need to start seeing things differently,” says facilitator of Design as Strategy Maureen Thurston-Chartraw, Global Director, Design to Innovate at Aurecon and Chair of Good Design Australia.

“If we want to innovate, we need to develop an explorer’s mindset; imagining what is possible, experimenting and challenging the status quo. At the heart of good design, and great engineering, is asking ‘why?’ We are proud to support the great work of Good Design Australia,” says John.

“Participating in forums like this supports Aurecon’s desire to shape better outcomes for our clients. We are recoding our DNA to work and think like designers. Working and thinking differently will see us effectively navigate volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity to deliver new value for Aurecon; our clients and ultimately, our client’s customers,” concludes Maureen.
