Aurecon appoints new Transport Technical Director

09 February 2016 - Consulting, engineering, management and specialist technical services firm Aurecon, has appointed Tim Watterson as Technical Director - Construction Market Delivery Leader for Auckland and Wellington Transport.

Reporting directly to Ian Sloane, Transport Services Leader for Auckland and Wellington, Watterson will govern and lead major projects within the transport industry, primarily across New Zealand. His focus will be on governance, strategic leadership and implementing corporate initiatives to improve client relationships, innovation and service delivery.

Speaking about the recent appointment, Sloane says “Tim’s wealth of expertise and vast international experience leading major infrastructure projects will be key to continuing our drive to deliver innovation and a strong service culture for our clients in New Zealand.”

“Working closely with contractors and government transport associations, my objective will be to help develop Aurecon’s capability and service delivery excellence across various delivery models including Design and Construct, ECI, PPP and Alliances,” says Watterson.

Watterson joins Aurecon from Jacobs, where he was the New Zealand Major Projects Group Leader and also Design Director for a diverse range of major transport and civil engineering infrastructure projects. He brings over 20 years of infrastructure experience working across New Zealand, Australia and UK.  Tim has a wide range of engineering and project experience having been involved across many different sectors including roads, rail, ITS, bridges, aviation and tunnels.
