Susie Pearn

13 July 2015 - Aurecon Chief Innovation Officer, John McGuire, recently announced that Susie Pearn has been appointed Expertise Leader, Health.

Susie Pearn began her involvement within the health sector over 20 years ago and is acknowledged for her insight and involvement across the industry. As Expertise Leader, Health, Susie brings a strategic mind set, the ability to deliver solutions and deep insight into the health sector – both from an operational and economic perspective.

Susie's background is primarily in health project management. She holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Building. Susie is a licensed builder, certified practising project manager and is registered as a ‘Managing Successful Programme Practitioner’, and also holds an MBA. Susie has delivered a significant portfolio of projects during her career, including the recently completed AUD 1.5 billion Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Queensland, Australia.

Susie has a strong advisory background, strengthened by her experience with the global management consultant Booz Allen. She also has deep asset management experience, developed through tenure in health asset management with the Spotless Group. A thought leader, Susie has presented papers at a number of health conferences, both nationally and internationally.

"Aurecon has a highly-respected and innovative health capability built over more than 30 years. This experience continues to be recognised, most recently through our appointment as programme director for one of the largest health projects in Australia,” said John McGuire, Chief Innovation Officer.

“Globally, the healthcare industry is facing the critical challenge of delivering more with less. We have recognised that Susie’s passion for driving positive change across the healthcare industry aligns with Aurecon’s commitment to supporting innovation and delivering an integrated health care system for the future," added John.

“I am passionate about helping health leaders create a more sustainable health system,” said Susie.

“A particular interest of mine is the convergence of technology and infrastructure and how this can help reduce health care demand, optimise health system performance and enhance patient outcomes which forms the basis for the delivery of Aurecon's broad range of services,” added Susie.

"Our expertise roles are critical for Aurecon to connect with our clients and to develop future solutions,” said John.

“I believe Susie has the passion, experience and vision to provide great leadership and insight and I congratulate Susie on her appointment,” added John.

Susie will be attending the Design and Health Conference in Hong Kong 15-19 July 2015, where she will share the story of ‘The Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital - one step in a complex journey of change for the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital’. While in Asia, Susie will be meeting with senior Healthcare clients in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
