Aurecon sustainability leader to present at leading hospitality conference in Macau, China

Jeff Robinson

16 September 2014 - Aurecon’s Sustainable Buildings Group Leader will be presenting at the 5th Annual Resorts & Entertainment Conference. The event, which will be held on 25 and 26 September at Galaxy Macau in Macau, China, features presentations by influential hospitality leaders across the globe.

Speakers at the event will focus their talks on how world class entertainment resorts with key sustainable development strategies and global mapping need to be positioned in order to achieve a competitive advantage in their industry.

Robinson is an expert in green building practices and has been involved in the development of many sustainable hospitality projects around the world. He also played a key role in the development of the Model ESD Sustainability Assessment Tool, a sustainability rating tool designed by Aurecon, in partnership with Monash University, which was declared Australasia’s most innovative and “best in class” by the national group of tertiary education facilities managers in 2009.

“Building owners, clients and tenants are under pressure to create sustainable, world class entertainment resorts. Multi-billion dollar investments are needed to achieve an internationally leading, green building in the hospitality industry,” says Robinson.

Robinson’s presentation will focus on experiences and case studies of how some of Aurecon’s visionary clients have been able to achieve leading green entertainment resorts by incorporating sustainable, economic design and building practices.

“I look forward to sharing Aurecon’s experiences on how environmental performance in existing entertainment resorts can be achieved and how clients should set out to plan the economic life of buildings for maximum impact. Sustainable entertainment resorts are all about knowing what investments have to be made at different stages in order to remain competitive and truly world-class,” concludes Robinson.

Other companies presenting at the two-day event include Minor Hotel Group, Hilton Worldwide, Regent Hotels & Resorts, VOA Associates Incorporated and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, among others. Conference planners, Marcus Evans, has set out two streams, namely Masterplanning, Desig & Technologies and Commercialisation & Future Developments that can be followed.
