2 September 2014 - Richard Ahlschlager, Aurecon’s Power Transmission & Distribution Leader for Africa and the Middle East, will be presenting a paper on 3D design technology for substation design at the East African Power Industry Convention (EAPIC) in Kenya on 3 - 4 September 2014.
Aurecon is a silver sponsor of the conference, which will cover power generation, transmission and distribution, metering, finance and energy efficiency.
In 2013 the East Africa Community announced a planned 64-billion dollar spend on joint power projects in East Africa over the next 25 years to meet rising power supply needs and support economic growth in the region.
Pieter Conradie, Aurecon’s Business Development Manager for Energy, said that the latest technologies and solutions are needed to effectively deliver these planned projects.
“Our experts are at the forefront of emerging technology such as smart grids and alternative energy sources including renewable energy, and has experience in delivering energy projects in East Africa,” Pieter said.
Aurecon has recently completed a feasibility study of the Nyamagasani II Hydropower Project in Uganda and is currently undertaking the role of Owner’s Engineer for the development of the Kinangop Wind Farm in Kenya.
