06 November 2014 - Aurecon’s Technical Director of Buildings, Benita Husband, and Technical Director of Environment and Advisory, Kate Wickett, have recently been honoured with individual NAWIC (The National Association of Women in Construction) awards at the VIC/TAS annual Excellence Awards last month.
NAWIC aims to champion and empower women in the construction and other related industries to help reach their potential.
Benita Husband was the winner of the NAWIC Emerging Leader award. She joined Aurecon in 2001 as a graduate and within five years was promoted to an Executive Shareholder position. This appointment recognised her leadership and ability to deliver successful project outcomes for Aurecon and its clients.
Benita said, “I was really excited to be nominated, and it was a privilege to win. I enjoyed the process of reflecting on what I have achieved in my career and appreciated the support of Aurecon in my nomination. The night was lots of fun!”
Kate Wickett was the successful recipient of the NAWIC Business Woman of the Year award. Kate has demonstrated an exceptional ability to identify opportunities and harness the diverse experience of her team to deliver cost effective and innovative solutions to her clients.
Kate is currently in Milan on a tour study with Monash University for her Masters of Business Administration.
