12 March 2013 - Aurecon is assembling a huge team of riders and crew for The Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer (RTCC), a gruelling 200 plus kilometre, two day cycling and fundraising event, which will be held in Brisbane and surrounding areas on 17-18 August 2013.
“We are sponsoring this event to raise money for critical cancer research at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and make a positive contribution to our local community,” says Aurecon Mining Infrastructure Leader and RTCC team co-captain, Andrew Keith.
To participate in the event, each registered rider must raise AUD 2 500. Click here to donate so that we can welcome as many riders as possible and reach our fundraising goal.
“Our cycling enthusiasts are taking part in weekly training rides to gear up for this physically challenging event and there’s a great sense of friendship and camaraderie developing,” says co-captain Pip McGlinn, Senior Commercial Manager, Capital Project Delivery.
As a pit stop sponsor of the event, Aurecon will have a crew of volunteers helping the cyclists to refuel at a designated pit stop along the course.
Our RTCC team has developed a comprehensive fundraising programme including a concert, an Orica GreenEdge cycling team event, movie nights and auctions.
