20 September 2012 - At the Innovative Bulk Material Export Solutions for Mining conference Andrew Keith, Aurecon’s mining infrastructure leader, will present the increasing challenges facing miners around lengthening ore export chains and investigate transshipment’s place as a means of increasing the viability of resource projects through decreased ore chain infrastructure costs.
Miners, shippers and end point users face the multiple challenges of remote locations, terrain, environmental and socio-political constraints, a lack of infrastructure and supply chain complexities as they strive to remain competitive in the world market.
“Targeting the lowest delivered cost requires innovative solutions, that reflect a whole of supply chain approach,” Andrew says.
Andrew’s presentation titled How long is an ore chain? Transshipment in the context of lengthening mining logistics chains, will focus on:
Andrew will also be one of the experts on the panel discussion: Strategies for expansions in bulk export capacity.
The conference, which will take place at the Novotel Langley in Perth on 25 September 2012, will examine low cost shiploading, transshipment and port infrastructure for mineral assets.
