Strengthening expertise in the investigation and management of contaminated land

Environmental Impact Assessment

13 March 2012 - Rohan Kellaway recently joined Aurecon as Technical Director Environment & Advisory Services, heading up the Contaminated Land Services Group in Australia and New Zealand.

He has over 20 years’ experience in assessing and managing contaminated land and extensive experience in a diverse range of environmental management and engineering disciplines.

Holding a Master of Environmental Management and Bachelor of Applied Science, Rohan has prepared environmental management plans, erosion and sediment control management plans, vegetation management plans and flora and fauna rehabilitation and re-vegetation plans across a wide range of project types.

“I’m looking forward to working across our business to build our environmental offering to clients, no matter what industry sector the project sits within,” says Rohan. “Environmental management and monitoring is a critical part of a wide range of projects, particularly if major redevelopments are being undertaken, or where sites may have a legacy of industrial use.”

“Increasingly complex environmental requirements and heightened community expectations mean that environmental management is now a clear part of a project’s lifecycle – from beginning to end,” adds Rohan.

He has extensive experience working in both the private and public sectors, and has worked with clients and project teams to deliver:

  • Environmental management of large scale linear/civil infrastructure projects
  • Contaminated land investigation and management programmes
  • Acid sulphate soils investigation and management
  • Groundwater and dewatering management
  • Flora/fauna assessment and management
  • Environmental Management Plans
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Environmental licencing and approvals
