05 April 2012 - Global architectural structures engineer, Francisco Pantano has joined Aurecon to deliver on the growing demand for specialisation in architectural high-end structures.

Ben Coxon, Building Structures Leader at Aurecon, said, “Francisco’s specialisation in the design, analysis and optimisation of structures with techniques like ‘Form-Finding’ will help deliver breakthrough innovations on high profile public infrastructure, long-span and large custom tensile structures.”

Pantano comes to Aurecon with 14 years’ experience gained from working on numerous projects internationally, developing his expertise in a wide spectrum of projects that involve non-linear analysis, seismic calculation, both conventional and unconventional materials and systems including stressed cables net structures and tensioned membranes.

Notable projects recently delivered by Pantano include The National Arena (Lia Manoliu), Bucharest; The New BC Place, Vancouver, Canada; Soccer City in Johannesburg and Cape Town Stadium. Pantano also provided the architectural concept for the “Dragonfly Wind Turbine” for international architectural firm RPBW.

Aurecon has been closely involved with the development of many of the world’s iconic stadia projects which have utilised its multidisciplinary blend of technical expertise and extensive industry experience.
