24 September 2010 - Two Aurecon airport specialists will be presenting at the upcoming Airport Expansions Asia conference to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on the 28 and 29 September, 2010.

The event will focus on trends, challenges and opportunities in the design, construction and operation of airports from across the continent.

Matt Glenn, Aviation Portfolio Manager, will present on strategies and solutions for the design of airside infrastructure and John Webb, Aurecon's Property Development Manager, will be presenting insights about developing sustainable user-friendly terminals. John will discuss a range of issues including airport expansion philosophies; sustainability and modelling; security, and technology advances.

The event will also feature presentations from aviation authorities, airport operators, multidisciplinary design consultants, EPC contractors and architects.

The focus of the conference will be best practice in design, construction and operation, with an emphasis on efficient masterplanning and new emerging sustainable practices. Case studies on both brown field and green field airports in planning, design and construction will include:

  • New Hyderabad International Airport, India
  • Da Nang International Airport, Vietnam
  • New Phu Quoc Island Airport, Vietnam
