Teddy Daka became Aurecon’s Global Chair in December 2012, after the untimely passing of Professor Jakes Gerwel, the group’s inaugural Global Chair.
A keen academic, Teddy holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management (Honours) and has completed several executive programmes at leading international business schools.
As the founder and chairman of Tedaka Investments Pty Ltd, an investment firm with interests across a swath of industries including defence, telecommunications, railways, mining, property and broadcasting, Teddy’s reputation as a visionary business leader and specialist in strategy and diversity management saw him play a pivotal role in the architecture of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) in South Africa.
He regularly acts as a trusted advisor and strategist to the public and private sectors, providing consultation services to both blue chip companies and several South African cabinet ministers in the areas of strategy, supply chain management and BBBEE. As a skilled and highly respected business consultant Teddy has a proven track record in improving growth through mergers and acquisitions.
With a career trajectory that spans chairing and serving on several major boards, as well as public sector task teams and committees, Teddy is a proponent of ethical, fair and equitable business practice, and is committed to ensuring Aurecon continues to function as an asset to the communities in which it operates.
