The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven states or emirates bordering the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Gulf. Its capital, Abu Dhabi, is the largest emirate in terms of area and the second largest in terms of population.

Aurecon has been operating in the UAE since 2000, opening a Dubai office in 2002 and an Abu Dhabi office in 2007. In addition to the UAE, Aurecon’s involvement in the Middle East and also North Africa includes the Gulf states of Oman and Qatar, Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt and Libya.

A decade of involvement in the Middle East has cemented Aurecon’s reputation in the market. We have established excellent relationships with key clients, working closely with primary and secondary infrastructure and property developers and authorities to foster infrastructure excellence throughout the region.

We offer a fully integrated range of technical services from planning, preliminary and final design, engineering management and administration, through to the construction supervision of buildings, roads and highways, stormwater drainage systems, bulk earthworks, water supply and reticulation, sewerage drainage and treatment, water canals and bridges.

Aurecon believes successful master planning is the key to creating great places. We have extensive experience in master planning in the UAE, ensuring all of the plans we design are integrated, creative, and deliverable. Support services include the processing of satellite imagery, geotechnical investigations and analyses, topographical surveying and traffic impact studies.

Our projects in the UAE range from major transportation infrastructure design and planning projects to multidisciplinary property projects in the commercial, residential and leisure sectors. For example, in Dubai, Aurecon was appointed by the Roads and Transport Authority to undertake the design and documentation for a bridge which will provide vehicular access into the Meydan Race Course stadium for VIP guests.

In addition, Aurecon is undertaking the R-1000 traffic study for Dubai which will guide all  transport planning in Dubai over the medium term. In addition, we are also undertaking the Abu Dhabi to Dubai Emirates Road Extension project, including fulfilling a design and management role for the design and construction procurement portions of the project.

In Abu Dhabi, the recently opened St Regis Resort on Saadiyat Island is a prime example of a large-scale Aurecon building services project in the Gulf. This major resort development saw the group involved in planning, design and construction supervision of a variety of engineering services which included structural and civil design.
